Story

Occupation: Owner/Manager,  Mack’s Auto Tyreplus

From: Royal Academy of Good Sorts

About me:

Born & bred in Cooma.  I have worked at Mack’s Auto since leaving school in 1978. Married to Ros, and have two gorgeous girls - Sally & Georgia. I was a founding member of the Cooma Monaro Historic Automobile Club and am a founding member and current vice president of the Cooma Chamber Of Commerce & Industry Inc.  And….. I played an awesome round of golf once!!

Why am I participating in Strictly Musical:

I have been overlooked in the past at the Grammy’s, so I thought that a big stage production was the way to go!!! It is quite humbling to be considered for a part in one of the MCCR’s fundraising productions, and I hope to be able to show the community that I am more than just the spare parts/Michelin Man.  And I obviously look forward to being part of a great fundraising community and help the MCCR reach their goals.

My choreographers are:

James (Boo) Ewart & Tennille Casanova-Sturgeon

Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated

The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
