Story
Occupation: Learning & Development/Marketing Coordinator, Boyce Chartered Accountants
From: Dynamo Dance Studio
About Me:
I grew up in Terrigal on the Central Coast but after my parents semi-retired in the Monaro five years ago I knew one day I too would move to the region. My move was made possible two years ago with a dream job opportunity at Boyce Chartered Accountants. I am responsible for both the learning and development and marketing service areas and get to work closely with all five Boyce branches. I am an interior design addict and spend countless hours searching Instagram hashtags for renovation inspiration for my #theblockmorundahst project (renovating my own home). I’m an avid snow skier, love to travel and enjoy chilling out at our family farm with our eight (yes eight) dachshunds.
Why I am participating in Strictly Musical:
I accepted the invitation because I couldn’t think of a good reason not to – I LOVE musicals and because each and everyone of us is affected by the nasty seven letter C word. The MCCR is a noteworthy cause and the committee of volunteers work really hard to make it a success and to give back to our community. I have heard such wonderful stories about the two previous Dancing with the Cooma Stars events and how the community really got behind them, so I hope they do it again.
My choreographers are:
Katie Thompson, Chloe Crawford and Kim Neville
Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated
The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
